What’s your “WHY”?
I decided to run for the school board because as a former teacher and school counselor, I am passionate about public education. After leaving education in 2018 to pursue private practice, I have found myself missing being involved in education on a more formal level. Being a member of the board will allow me the opportunity to rejoin the educational community in a meaningful way.
Although our efforts to reduce class sizes are not finished, I am happy that we brought awareness to this issue, and I will continue to push for what is best for students and teachers.
This is one of the many reasons I decided to run for the Northville School Board. I will work hard, bring people together, and keep our children at the forefront. I hope you will join me in building an even better future for our schools.
Why should Northville vote for YOU?
My background in education, counseling, and therapy provides me with a deep understanding of the community’s needs, especially in relation to children, families, and education. My experience as a former teacher and high school counselor gives me insight into the challenges faced by students, educators, and families, allowing me to advocate for better resources, support, and improvements in the educational system. My unique combination of skills—balancing mental health, education, and family dynamics—positions me to address issues that affect the community’s overall well-being. My passion for making a positive difference, and my ability to listen, empathize, and lead through collaboration makes me a strong advocate for Northville’s future, with a commitment to ensuring all students, teachers, and families can thrive.
How do YOU combat chaos and misinformation in the community?
Combatting chaos and misinformation in a community requires a multi-faceted approach that focuses on promoting clarity, trust, and education. I do my best to share factual information from the federal, state, and district level when and where appropriate.
With the recent flurry of divisive and negative campaign tactics, is there anything else you want to share?
I am a devoted mom and a passionate mental health professional who wants what is best for all of our kids. I am very collaborative, easy-going, and I am a good listener. I am flexible in my thinking and welcome opportunities to have healthy and constructive conversations with people who have a variety of views that may be different from my own.
